I am from SoCal, have been accepted to both UCLA and USC, and with financial aid, I will be paying close to the same price for both schools (only about $2500 more for USC, so maybe insignificant?). I'll also be majoring in biology and looking towards pre-med.
I have visited both schools and in my opinion, both schools are just as beautiful. The only problem may be USC's surrounding area, but I know that if I stay on campus, everything should be fine.

Which school is better to run on a pre-med track? I heard that because USC is a private institution, it offers more internship opportunities - is this true?
Also, I'm not absolute about running pre-med track; I'm beginning interest in environmental sciences. Which school would be more flexible with changing majors? (It won't be a large change because I know that all still keep in the life sciences category though.)
Also, I'm kinda interested in environmental science but I don't know what career that would take me too - does anyone know where that major could take me?

Another question is about pre-med overall. I also heard through other posts that when applying to med-school, the schools only look at GPA, MCAT scores, and extra-curriculars and little towards the undergrad school ranking. Would it be smarter for me to attend UCI or UCSD, where the ranking is lower and I could assume would less competition? (I was also accepted to those schools).

Thank You! I wish to pursue pre-med track although I'm not very knowledgeable!
