Does anyone know when the orientation for incoming freshmen is? I can't seem to find it. Thanks a lot!

Heres a good link with orientation dates:

[UCLA New Student & Transition Programs - First Year Students](http://www.newstudents.ucla.edu/firstyearstudents.htm)

It starts the morning of the first day (you can stay over the previous night if you want for an extra fee). And then you are done in two days right before dinner.

thx a lot!

does anyone know if it’s true that the earlier the session the more safe I am for getting the classes I want or is it random?

^Doesn’t matter which session you go to.

I would go to the earliest possible orientation. You get to sign up for your fall quarter classes on the last day of orientation, thus earlier sessions will get better schedules with professors. Some of the popular and interesting GEs will also be more open at the beginning of the summer. Some of my friends had later orientations last year and it was really tough to find GEs and were stuck with the tougher professors. They do save a certain number of spots in english comp 3, GE clusters, and a few other classes for each session of orientation.

Tyler1993 is simply wrong. The earlier your session is, the earlier you get to enroll in classes. It’s not like you’ll be screwed if you go to the last session, but it makes sense to try to attend the earliest one you can.
