UCLA Pre-Bizecon vs. Pre-Econ does it make a difference?

So I've been doing a lot of digging through old posts here on CC and people generally say that it doesn't make a difference which you apply for and that getting into UCLA's Econ Dept is what's important. Is it true that after being admitted to this dept, one can choose any Econ major upon completion of the prereqs? I'm skeptical because UCLA's website specifically states, "Demand for this major significantly exceeds space available. You must be admitted directly into this major; you will not be able to change to this major after admission to UCLA".

Also, which is the easier to be admitted as? I've seen the stats of students on the UCLA site and it shows that in the past, Econ had a slight advantage over Bizecon in terms of percentage admitted. But I'm thinking that the numbers might be a bit misleading because I assume a decent amount of Bizecon applicants were missing prereqs and were automatically rejected. These unqualified students were still counted in the total number of applicants, and therefore skewed the data. I'm also going to assume that most Econ applicants had their prereqs completed, since there aren't as many as Bizecon. And because of that, the numbers for Econ should be a bit more accurate. Based on my assumptions, would it be safe to say that Bizecon is the slightly easier major to be accepted as?
