Got that too. I just feel it would be so demoralizing that they would reject people who have received 2 scholarship emails… (just don’t do that to us please…)

Anyone else feel kinda bad for giving their profs such short notice to write letters? :(

I got the Regent’s, but not the Alumni…

@FinanceWiz, I believe that the Alumni Scholarship is open to everyone, as long as you meet the requirements.

http://alumni.ucla.edu/scholarships/apply/

I remember seeing them on Ms. Sun’s blog a while back. Best of Luck!

Yeah, I never got the alumni email, but I had already registered an account to compete for the scholarship awhile ago.

@nowworried Thanks!! Truly appreciate the help. And the best of luck to you as well.

I heard from an UCLA representative back in Feb that the Admission Department and the Scholarships Department work independently. She said the scholarships department doesn’t wait for the admissions to come out. They always work ahead to see who is qualified for the scholarships regardless of how the admissions would turn out to be.

I can’t wait to hear back. Some people were saying it might come out April 25th, but I’m crossing my fingers the decisions come out sooner.
Good luck to everyone!!!

It says its due Friday. Does that mean it’s due tonight at 11:59PM or Friday night at 11:59 PM?

Tonight at 11:55pm would still be Thurs

Were the invitations sent solely based on GPA? How come I didn’t get one? My GPA is 4.0. :-
Any idea if the invitation is just for U.S. citizens?

I second enferrari’s question, do I have till 11:59PM tonight (Thursday) or 11:59PM tomorrow night (Friday) to turn it in?

Also, how strict are they on the word count, can I go 8 words over?

I just submitted mine today to be safe, good luck to all other applicants!

On the application it says “Anything received after April 11, 2014 will not be accepted” so I think it’s due April 11th 11:59pm.

I just submitted my essay, and man it feels good.

That said, do you guys know if the people reviewing the essays will see the formatting? It just looks like one big paragraph from the Thank You page.

For my submission summary, in the Letter of Recommendation section it says:

You have updated your Letter of Recommendation information to say that it is written by So and So, English Professor.

Is this similar to others? I’m concerned that my professor just put her name and title, but didn’t actually upload a letter. On the submission page itself, there was language that suggested a letter was uploaded, but I couldn’t actually see a file name or anything like that…just something along the lines of “if you upload a letter it will overwrite the previous one”, implying the existence of a letter, but not explicitly confirming it when taken together with the ambiguous statement above.

@derrpy I had the same message. I’m pretty sure that means that there was a letter already uploaded.

Am I allowed to submit an essay greater than 300 words?

@nowworried Thanks

Just submitted my application! Pretty difficult on talking about how investment banking improves society lol.
