Has anyone received Regents at UCLA on here?

I know you guys are the top students for the most part....has anyone received Regents? Is it possible that they haven't all been awarded yet?

they have already been given out. if u dont see it on myFAO under gift aid, u didn’t get it

it’s not the same as the scholarship recognition award is it

no its not. regents is $2000

Are you sure? It seems a little odd that no one on this website received it…

my friend received it. i was at school .he showed me. i am 100% sure. and its not that weird. only like 30 or so transfer got it. my friend is one of the smartest guys ever

@ihatecelt well that makes me feel better :D

^yea. i didn’t get it either. o wells. but i still got more grants than him anyway since he’s rich and im poor

iHateCeltics, do you mind getting a screen shot of his myfao showing regent scholarship? In this thread you claim that he showed you that he received it, but in another thread you claim that he told you that he received it.

Let me know, thanks

I’m reluctant to believe that it’s done being awarded. I realize it’s hard to get, but the top students generally post on here. I would expect at least one person on this forum to have the award.

yea… id like to see some proof. theres no way none of the recipients have posted it yet…

why would he take a screenshot for me with all his personal info? u guys can go believe whatever you wish to believe. quite frankly, i couldnt care less what u guys think. bc i already know that they already released it

I will call the office in about 40 minutes when they open up and I will post their response. My guess is that they haven’t released all winners yet. Like some of you were saying, at least one person on this post should have received it and let us know. It is true that very few transfer students get the actual scholarship, but of those transfer students that were invited, I heard something like 1 out of 2 get it. We’ll find out for sure within the hour.

Regents’ Scholars were notified after admission decisions were out last year.

Thanks ioi…I called the Regents office about 20 minutes ago, thinking they opened at 7am, but I was wrong. I’m glad you found that. It makes sense too, because admissions decisions and the Regents scholarship decision are made by 2 separate entities. The admissions decisions are released in waves as they make them and the Regents are probably released all at once, because they have to review EVERY candidate before making their final selection.

Imagine if they already gave out ALL 100 Regents scholarships without reviewing ALL applicants and then they found a STELLAR applicant who was not able to receive it because they jumped the gun. Admissions is not working off a fixed number like Regents is, so admissions is able to release decisions in waves, whereas Regents isn’t.

Lastly, I don’t think they would hold back an admission decision because the Regents weren’t ready yet…besides, I think the computer releases the decisions automatically if they’re done.

Hope this makes sense…I’m tired, couldn’t sleep a wink last night!

I just checked it out last year. Out of the 1000 people that applied, they offered 200 regents scholarships. Thus, it’s pretty tough to believe that not one person on this site has gotten it. I’m under the assumption they haven’t awarded it yet…

I called the Regents Scholarship coordinator (310-206-9323) and talked to Alex. I asked her if Regents decisions have been made yet and she said yes. I then asked her if we should be able to see them on our financial aid packages, she said yes as well. Finally, I asked her that if we can’t see it in our financial aid packages, does that mean we didn’t get it, she said yes.

For some reason, however, I still refuse to believe this. I am holding on to the faith that their computer is slow in posting regents acceptances. Does anybody else have any input? Has anybody received it yet? Like a couple of other people have said, it is hard to believe that if it is true that all decisions have been posted, NOT ONE person has told us about it here.

Not giving up hope until I see proof on here.

I am right there with you! Please, if anybody finds anything, get a screen shot and show us, PLEEEAAAAAASSEE!

Yes, I know it’s simply just me being in denial, but I REFUSE to believe this.
