UCLA transfer housing assignment

It said on the transfer housing timeline that "housing assignment offers are available online" on June 10. Please go ahead and share where you are assigned and whether you got your 1st,2nd,or 3rd choice. =)

I somehow was assigned a double in Hitch, even though my first five choices were all off-campus apartments and the only on-campus choice I selected was a single.

Shared bathrooms and no kitchen, just what I was looking forward to...

Where do you get your housing assignment notification? by e-mail? I didn't get it yet.=_=

it took me quite awhile to find it but this is how you get your housing assignment.

go here http://www.housing.ucla.edu/myhousing/

click make initial payment

click 2) Print, View, or Pay for your specific housing offer

log in and your housing assignment should be available.

UCLA's student web sites are kind of cryptic at times.

thanks much appreciated!

oh cool I think I got my first choice

First. THANKS! I was just about to make a thread asking this.

I got a three bedroom/three person apartment in Glenrock, and I am content with this.

Everyone else post your stuff.

you're welcome and Congratulations on getting your first choice!! ^_^

GAYLEY TOWERS
STUDIO/TWO PERSONS

Wth... gayley towers?! what kind of name is that?! grrrraaaah... trogdor!!!

gayley was my first choice, the studio loft looks like a pretty nice place to live.

I was assigned a double in Hitch Suites too. Is this a residential suite? I am very angry/frustrated/confused!! All my choices were off-campus apartments or Hilgard houses. How did I land in a residential suite?!?! What does this mean? Are all my choices gone? Or is there a mix up? Anyone else feeling frustrated?

Yeah, the ones with the loft do look pretty nice, like a one bedroom appt basically (unfortunately, I don't think I'm getting that but oh wells)

I'm confused as to why I got off campus housing even though my first three choices were on campus and other people who wanted off campus housing weren't able to get it. I've warmed up to the idea after seeing how much I'll be saving.

ennui, unpredictable, you guys should probably just appeal it as soon as you can.

How do you appeal?

I checked the Asked Housing website and it said to accept the offer and then submit a Change of Assignment. Is this how you appeal?

My situation is totally the opposite. I was assigned a SINGLE in Rieber Vista Plaza, which is a brand new building with a lot of benefits... But it's going to be a little over 14,000 with the meal plan, and a single on campus was my fourth choice because of the high cost. I don't get why I got a single when they are in such high demand, even though I ranked this combo near the bottom of my list. Should I be happy about this? Is it worth the money? Do you think I'll still meet people?

unpredictable, yeah, that's pretty much how you do it.

Im not sure if your talking to me, but it really wasn't my first choice, my first choice was single studio, and then my second was another form of a single, 1 bedroom, 1 person??? I don't remember.

The three bedroom/three person was my thrid choice, but I am happy with it since I got my own room and for other reasons.

Gayley is the street that borders the westside of UCLA with all the frats on it. It won't sound funny to you very much longer lol.

Yeah thats gonna hurt the pocket book. I believe the new singles are acutally like a mutil bedroom apartment setup. Im not a 100% about this, but this is what my girlfriend and her roomates where saying when choosing their housing for their second years at UCLA. They better hurry those things up lol. They are still very under contruction--a lot of people might be living in study lounges again....

Uh oh... so is that a good thing Dustyb20?

Whats that? The contruction? If so, I really wouln't worry too much, espeically if your in Hedrick Summit, it looks real good, Reber Vista still looks like its got a way to go--was checkin it out today as a matter of fact. But its going fast. I didn't want to make anyone worry, the fact of the matter is I know little about construction, however, it has happened in the past.

Hedrick Summit~ My future home. Sure wonder what its like. I'll see in 3 months^^

Rieber Vista- Double, shared bath. Im pretty excited to be sleeping on a new mattress! and using a new toliet. I'm not looking forward to being disturbed by obnoxious and giddy freshman. We'll see...I hope to see a lot of my fellow transfers with me at Rieber Vista!!! or at least on my floor. yay!
