Do I have a good chance at getting in? Do they offer financial aid to transfers?

How will any of these places be cheaper?

@CopperlineX2 i plan to appeal due to personal financial circumstances/hardships that occurred last year that i have already explained to UCLA but they refused to offer me financial aid this academic year which is why I planned to transfer for next year.

First of all, let me congratulate you on having a good GPA in a challenging major at a difficult academic institution while dealing with financial hardship. It shows impressive initiative that you were able to file transfer apps with both UC and CSU while staying on top of your studies. I know CA CC students get priority for transferring into UC’s but I know plenty of people are able to change UC campuses. I know you are probably angry and feel disrespected by UCLA for denying your financial aid appeal for this year, but please weigh your options carefully before you make this choice. YOU EARNED the privilege to study at the BEST public school in the nation. You are nearly halfway to a degree there. If I were in your position, I would EAT NAILS before I let this opportunity go. Send in your new FAFSA with all the schools you listed including UCLA. See what they offer you for next year. Their endowment is huge. I doubt strongly that any of the others will offer you a better deal. If you are able to stay at home and commute to a UC, I could understand you making the choice to transfer. Do you have a group of friends established at one of these other schools? If not, you will see on these threads that many transfers feel lonely and left out because so many students have found “their people” by the end of freshman year. I know you will have choices once decisions are released. Be sure your decision is truly in YOUR BEST INTEREST, and not the result of bitterness or anger at the financial aid office. Best of luck to you as you complete your college journey.
