UCLA, UCSB, UCI, UCD, UCB chances

My friend who is a current senior is applying to 5 UCs and is wondering what his chances are for each one. He is not willing to make an account on CC, so I told him I would just let him type out his stats on mine.

UC GPA: 4.0

SAT: 1500/1600
Math II: 750

ECs: No clubs, two varsity sports (cross country/tennis).

Based on just his stats itself, what chances does he have for the schools above?

Intended major? Any major related EC’s? HS course rigor? In-state resident? Plan to take any other subject tests?

That GPA is in the “mid tier UC disappointment zone”. UCSB, UCD, and UCI would be at least high match to low reach, while UCB and UCLA would be reach. If the intended major is an impacted or capped one (e.g. computer science or an engineering major), they would be even more difficult to get into.

Intended major is psychology/business

APs taken: Calc AB, English Literature, Comp Sci, Physics 1, Economics, Government and Politics, Enviromental Science

AP Scores so far: Comp Sci: 4, Physics: 3 English Lit: 4

I believe he is not taking anymore subject tests

Yes we are both in state

It seems like he has a chance at all these schools, especially UCI and UCD. Keep in mind that both UCLA and UCB are tough admits, so one can never really tell. A 1500 is quite a good score for most UCs though.
