UCLA Undergrad research...

Anybody have any personal experience with any aspect of UCLA's undergrad research? Specifically within Letters and Sciences, but any information would be much appreciated. I'm just asking because every school wants to pump itself up and make itself look good, so they'll all say "We're the best!" only in more flowery, verbose ways. Anybody?

Thx in advance,

I have no personal experience, just second-hand knowledge that their research offers many opportunities. I am sure you know that each persons experience is somewhat different...so opinions will very. But I have consistently read there are many opportunities to be taken advantage of.

Maybe someone with some firsthand knowledge can shed some light for you.

I wanted to apply for undergrad research in the School of Engineering next year but the website said that undergraduate research requires at least a 3.5 GPA... which is impossible as an engineer... :(

how's their engineering program?

Second best in the UC system, and within the top-15 nationwide.
