Well, as the title suggests, I was accepted to UCLA and Cornell. I plan to major in Political Science/Pre-Law. I'm from southern California but I'm so confused on where to attend. I've been wanting to go to UCLA since I was 7 and it's so close to home, which is good. They are very popular and they have a lot of school pride. The only downside is that it's a huge university and with that, I might not be able to get the classes I want. Cornell is an Ivy, which is great but it's so far away and I'm not used to Ithaca, NY weather. Hmm... advice anyone?

So you want to go to law school? you know that pre law isnt required right? idk im black so i probably wouldnt go to UCLA since its suppose to be racist, but those are 2 good good schools, if i were you i would go to UCLA since it was the school you have wanted to go 2

well, I’m African-American as well. I’ve grown up in the Los Angeles area, but I’m not going to rule out good schools because of a few idiots. lol

o thats cool, im from texas and i would have really liked to go to a school in Cali, i would go to UCLA i dont really care much for IVY league schools

Getting classes is only a big problem your first year or so or with classes that are the most popular. Even then, you can usually get into at least 2 classes that you really want. From there, you have to know the various requirements so that you can pick out a useful 3rd/4th class. That part is really only an issue for people without a defined plan who don’t know what requirements they should follow. Also, if you’re from LA it shouldn’t be that difficult to spend a summer taking classes that are hard to get into or whatever.

If you’ve wanted to go to UCLA since you were 7, you should go to UCLA.

Yeah, it sounds like youve had your mind made up. They are very different atmospheres, and if it’s really difficult to decide, try to visit.

I second ThisCouldBeHeavn’s statement: If you’ve wanted to go to UCLA since you were 7, you should go to UCLA. It’s a great school, and if you love it, then go for it!

well, did u want to go cuz u relli loved the school…(which i doubt you’d b able to know when u were 7), or was it because it was the nearest large “good” school you knew?
I would research again, and tell us specifically what you’re looking for in a school.
