I know there's already a UCLA vs. CAL thread, but I was wondering if I could get more information regarding the pre-med at both schools. Which would you better advise for someone who is interested in going to the medical field?

Which will better prepare a student for med school?

people sometimes seem to have this idea that some schools do something magic that others can't do, that they will better prepare them or boost their chances. Not true in general, and especially not true when you're comparing 2 colleges in the same system that are among the top ranked public U's in the country.

What's going to decide whether you get into med school is not which school you decide to enroll in but what YOU do in college. This means grades, MCAT scores, getting to know profs so you get good recs, volunteer work in medicine, taking part in research in a lab.
