Ok, I got into both UCLA and CMU for EE, and before I was pretty sure i wanted to go to UCLA, since I like the environment there better, but after my parents gave me a big spiel about jobs and my future and whatnot, I guess I should find out more about the two.

It seems like CMU is the better school for EE, but how much of a difference will going to CMU over UCLA be for getting into a top grad program or getting a great job? Besides that, please tell me anything that will help me make the best decision.

i know two people that chose UCLA over CMU for that exact same reason: environment. In all honesty, it may make a small difference. but it's much better to go to UCLA if you'd be happier here because you'll probably do better academically where you are happiest.

Some college rating site (collegepr0wler.com, censor bypass i know but its the name of the site!) ranks girls for UCLA at an A-. CMU is a D+
D:
But thats subjective. It's cooolllddd at CMU i hear.

I chose UCLA over CMU (for computer science), but I had some more personal reasons for coming to UCLA.

I live like 3 hours away from CMU so I visited multiple times. I guess I didn't really like the style (environment, architecture, living, food) and I think I made the right choice by coming to UCLA.

About the job opportunities, etc - It's not ALL about the program you get into or which school you attend, but it's also about the connections you develop and how ambitious you are (just my opinion). There are so many job fairs and events at UCLA (like Evening With Industry) where you meet many company representatives and hopefully obtain an internship/job in the future.

Even your professors will offer you opportunities of an internship!
