UCLA vs UCB for engineering??

Basically I've always wanted to go to one of these schools. UCLA was always my number 1, but Berkeley was always really close behind. Recently my dad was looking at the rankings and was impressed by how engineering program in Berkeley is ranked so high, whereas UCLA doesnt break top 15 in many lists... But recently I've been rethinking it, I prefer UCLA MUCH more now but I know I'm going to have a tough time convincing my asian dad to let me go to to UCLA provided I get into UCLA and Berkeley.

The reasons I prefer UCLA much more now is....
1. I heard Berkeley is ultra competitive grades wise, not that UCLA isnt, but the rep for Berkeley's competitiveness is extremely high and I'm not sure I'll be suited for that..
2. UCLA campus > UCB campus (Los Angeles area!!)
3. UCLA Girls > UCB Girls... This is actually fairly important too me honestly... I know that Cal's girls arent atrocious, but I heard UCLA girls have to be near the top in the country..

But the on the other hand, I feel like an engineering degree from Cal if I push myself through it would allow me to get a job more easily (any truth to this?)

So I guess my question is, is it still worth going to Cal despite my preferences for UCLA? And is there a difference between undergrad degree from Cal vs UCLA engineering?
Thanks for the feedback guys! (Of course this all assumes that I even get into these schools..)

I would say that a potential engineer would prefer Cal’s engineering programs over UCLA’s. Unless you are looking at biomedical engineering, you will have more opportunities at one of the world’s premier engineering universities. UCLA is great and all, and you still will do and learn fine, but if you are a capable engineer Berkeley is better. And Berkeley is ultracompetitive grade-wise, but UCLA isn’t that far behind.

The girls and the campus I cannot counter. xD

I beg to disagree. I found the most beautiful woman in the world at Berkeley. ;)

Girls or eningeeering … tough choice.

Hehe. But erg…
