I got in both UCLA and UCSB but I'm very confused.SB seems to have a very well known physics department with 4 nobel prize winners but on the other hand its UCLA :) .I would appreciate if you give me some piece of advice

You'll never so much as see the Nobel Prize profs as an undergrad, LA hands down.

you probably should wait for Cal.

If you are certain that you're going to stick with physics than SB is probably the better school in terms of physics research. I have found that UCLA doesn't have the physics research that I am interested in. SB and Berkeley do. However, I prefer UCLA as whole over Cal or SB.

As an undergrad, you can't go wrong in choosing one over the other in terms of academics. Both are great institution and neither will give you an advantage when you are applying to grad school or summer research programs. At that point research experience, GPA, and letters of recommendation are more important. So pick a school that you will be happy with since it will help you focus to earn good grades.
