I’m trying to decide between these two schools. I’m kind of indecisive about whether I want to go onto med school or become an engineer.

UCLA (major: bioengineering):
- Good overall school and prestige
- If I decide to switch out of BioE (perhaps to something like biochemistry), I’d still be in good shape.
- Good social scene
- Large city (many things to do, close to airport)

but its BioE program is new, which I don’t know if it’s going to get better and catch up to UCSD or not.

UCSD Warren College (major: bioengineering: pre-med):
- Good ranking/program in BioE
- Many job opportunities after graduating

My question is, if UCSD’s bioengineering program is really worth it to choose over that of UCLA’s, which is new and I have not heard many things about it yet. Also, is UCSD good for anything other than bio-e? (in case i switch major) And which school has better housing?

Thanks for any insight into these questions. I’m from out-of-state so I don’t know much
