Sorry, I should of been very specific about my future goals. I’m aiming for Management Consulting specifically Strategic or Operational Consulting.

Thanks again Amazing for elaborating. At this point, it seems to me that a Bus. Admin degree is much more beneficial than an Economics degree. On a side note, I’m not bashing anyone. My intended goal was to get into Haas.

One of the reasons why I’m so hesitant towards USC is because I prefer LA over USC.

Amazing, while I agree about the reality of employers vapidly resorting to rankings, the only real source for this is USNews. Given this, there isn’t a world of difference between #25 and #27 on a list of hundreds and hundreds of universities on several tiers.

Given this marginal difference, I would bet that a prospective employer would be weary of giving one or the other a significant advantage on this basis, especially given the heavily-weighed roles of the interview, GPA, prior work experience, internships, etc.

In the end though, I think that preference between USC and UCLA is just purely subjective. I, for instance, didn’t even apply to UCLA, while USC is my first choice. The OP is an example of someone who just simply prefers UCLA. It’s a matter of taste.
