UCLA vs UT-Austin pre-health

This year, fall 2010, I got into UCLA College of Letters and Science with Pre Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics as my major. By the way, do those three majors count as premed?
I also got into University of Texas at Austin for College Of Natural Sciences (Undeclared/Prepharmacy). I know that UT Austin has a great pharmacy program for College of Pharmacy, but that is not what I got in though..

I consider living to be a big factor, and the only thing keeping me from choosing UCLA is what I have heard from alumnis about the dorms... My family consider rankings to be a big thing too, so what should I pick? I think that both places would be great, since its both at big cities. While I'm pretty much californian, but living in Taiwan, I would rather go to UCLA, but I dont want to miss out on a good experience if UT Austin is a great place.

Can someone give suggestions or comments, more preferably someone who has been to both schools.
Btw why are they both pre?

MIMG is one major
‘Pre-Med’ doesn’t mean anything re: majors. Just means you’re working on the pre-reqs to apply to med school. Your major could be anything.
Are you an international student or are you just residing overseas at the moment? Do you have USA residency? Which state?

Obviously, UCLA is the more prestigious and better university. We also have plenty of internship opportunities here and pre-Med students benefit greatly from the nearby Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center as well as Cedars-Sinai.

What have you heard that was so bad about UCLA dorms? I don’t find them to be great but they’re certainly not that bad. There’s a variety of housing options to choose from.

Oh. i know that premed isnt a major, but i was wondering why there were three subjects under one major MIMG. btw, for those who know people taking it, is it hard?

I’m a US citizen abroad in Taiwan. my parents are in california and do pay taxes there (along with my sisters living there).

I think i do intend to go to UCLA now. my biggest concern now is how some people feel that going to lower ranked UCs like Davis or Irvine will be better than going to LA and working your ass off for the same that you can get at Davis and Irvine without much effort as LA
