I have narrowed my choices down to UCLA and Waterloo Electrical Engineering. I presently live in Canada and do not know which school I should attend. Any advice will be appreciated.

PS: Please do not factor in tuition fees and costs since they are not an issue for me.

My vote goes to UCLA. More diversity of student body and potential experiences, and it'll be a good experience to live abroad (even though the US barely counts, for a Canadian). Also, the schools name will likely get you further.

The Waterloo program is a very different program than those found in UCLA and Cornell. The whole co-op aspect of it makes for a very different experience. Do you think you'd enjoy that kind of lifestyle or would you prefer the more 'traditional' experience? UCLA and Cornell are both really good in engineering but they're very different in certain aspects. I mean one is in the chilly northeast and the other is in sunny california! (lol I guess in that aspect I might be biased ;) )

If Cornell is in the mix, I would have to say go with it. Between UCLA and Waterloo, I would say it depends on which school appeals more to you. Waterloo is supposed to be the Carnegie Mellon of Canada, so I would not be quick to dismiss it. However, campus life at UCLA is probably nicer and if workin in the Bay area is a priority for you, UCLA may have the edge over Waterloo. However, Cornell trumps both if you ask me.
