Well you guys can not believe me while I’m filling out my housing application for UCLA, soooooo. I dont see why I would lie, I started this thread to help people, not lie on it
@Mathwiz510 so I guess I should call tomorrow and ask if they have any spots left for the major I am trying to get in to. That way I don’t have to wait the whole month to find out 
Well, here’s the thing… they don’t know how many spots remain for each major because it really depends on the amount of transfer applicants that SIR to that specific major. Tomorrow is the deadline so realistically, June 2 is when they should have some idea. They go by major departments too so they would have to look at each department’s enrollment cap and from there it would be supply vs demand. June 1-30 is the expected and they will be releasing the decisions in batches. Good luck!
They evaluate transfer and freshmen applicant separately. For example, let’s say they admit approximately 500 students for mechanical engineering and only 450 of them SIR-ed to LA (other 50 SIR-ed somewhere else). If there are like 150 people waitlisted for that major, UCLA admissions will pick the best 50 qualified applicants from that waitlist pool. The admission officer told me that they reevaluate your UC app and compare you to other applicants and take into account your waitlist letter too.
@Mathwiz510 interesting, on their page they said they pick randomly. But hey whatever works. I didn’t write much when I submitted my waitlist letter ‘-’ I guess, I should have written more.

yeah I went in to get my housing sorted and the minute i got to campus, my friend texted me to find shelter, it was scary
