I think that there were only be a few people accepted off the waitlist because they already accepted 10k more students then they usually do…

@Alex00001 Yeah, but I have been hearing mid july, and not just mid june. Its quite frustrating to hear such a thing but its whatever. I’m like 80% committed to UCSD so I don’t mind getting rejected by LA.

@Mathwiz510 Yeah, engineering in UCSD is awesome, good for you. Although I also gave my SIR to UCSD, I heard that the economics major there is weak. So, UCLA is my last hope… Majoring in Econ sucks…
@Alex00001 the econ department at UCSD is actually very strong. If you look at their grad department they tie with UCLA in ranking. At an undergrad level, I’ve heard really great things about the program. Also, if you’re looking into biz econ at UCLA and dont get in(but I hope you do)I suggest looking into management science at SD with a minor in business
@Absabs Engineering people in UCSD just always tease Econ people, including me, which made me feel upset. Thank you for the information. SD is awesome. Now I think I will go to SD happily:)
Lol. Idk about the UCSD and UCLA econ department, but i know UCSB and UCB have very top notched programs for that major.

@Alex00001 @Immensethinker24 I’m waitlisted for biz econ too! I was denied from Haas as well but I’m really hoping UCLA will work out. Looking at previous years threads, it really just seems like a hit/miss with biz econ. I remember reading that some people with 3.85 were taken off the waitlist while some with 3.9’s were not. It may have something to do with the waitlist statement? I’m not sure, just hoping for the best
@xxrubyxx I think that decisions can come out as late as mid-july because mid-july is around when the transcript deadline is for admitted students and there is a possibility that admission can be revoked for those that lied on their application or something.

You got an interesting point. That’s going to be a long wait if that’s the case. I’m just hoping they would start releasing decisions the upcoming week since there would be a few spots to begin with.
