Hey guys, so I have massive interest in joining UCLA women's basketball... or at least try out. Does anyone know how this process work?
I have no athletic history in basketball, only in other sports, but this has always been my passion.

Is there walk-on tryouts?
Do they have junior varsity or something?

The UCLA women are ranked #23 in the country and they recruit 3-4 players a year … there are 30,000 high schools in the US and about 150,000 senior basketball players … to be a recruit at UCLA a women player needs to be in the top 0.1% of players in the country … high DI level players do not need to find schools the schools will find them.

UCLA may allow tryouts for 1-2-3 walk-ons a year but the odds that someone who has not played competative basketball could jump in at that level are astronomical. If you’re a all-american at your other sports maybe otherwise it is an incredible long-shot.

All that said your odds are 0% unless you try … and the only one who knows if they allow walk-ons to tryout is the head coach … send her/him an email (they likely have a contact tab on their web=page) and ask!

Your chances are slim to none, but good luck nonetheless! If all else fails, look into club basketball. It’s still very competitive and loads of fun. I know all the club sports will be having this fair-type thing tomorrow on the field so check it out.

the above commit is right that u have a chance to get slim day by day and u get comfort like women do work in whole day and they got tied and need some fresh environment so game is a easiest way to give u a great comfort

Very tough to get recruited, one of the top programs in the nation. They have the top recruiting class for the next year. There is a walk-on girl who is on the team, and it is a ton of work. If you are on your high school team there is a place on uclabruins.com regarding recruitment to fill out your info. Good luck.
