so what do you think of the ranking? Is it a fair decision or is Uconn still underrated? Also, do you think that Uconn will ever be a 1st tier school ranked within the best 55 or so?

When UConn raises the endowment to over $500 million, lowers the admissions rate to under 50%, and narrows the student:faculty ratio from 17:1 to around 14:1, they will be top 60. Not until then. I am predicting in about 3 to 4 years.

what was uconns rank this year?

64 this year

Didn't it also jump from 27 or 28 to 24th on the best public schools list?

Yeah, that's what it says on the UConn website.

That makes it a top 25 public. That's good.

Also..UConn got a 2.3 billion dollar gift from Connecticut..why not put just 700 million of that toward endowment, which would increase their endowment to a billion, letting them compete with the bigger flagship public universities. It just seems..so odd...to have such a low endowment. That's probably one of the things that keeps them from being ranked higher.

I guess they rather spend the money, rather than hoard it away for rankings purposes. Which is what I would rather have them do, who cares how much a school has if they don't use it. Rankings don't matter that much, but it is a good thing that they are improving.

Yea, but I'm not saying they should increase it for ranking purposes...it couldn't be further from my mind. I'm highly against colleges doing things for the benefit of the rankings, and not their students.

A high endowment, however, gives off more intrest. With a higher endowment, UConn could afford to pay more in financial aid, which would benefit a lot of students..me included.

I am all for more money into financial aid, since I too am going to need it. I doubt they know what to do with all that money honestly.
