I have to make a decision ASAP on where I am going transfer to this fall. UCONN campus that I will be attending will not be the main campus, but a regional campus (so I will be commuting). UCONN will cost me around $6,500 for the year (maybe less if I get a state scholarship, but it’s not guaranteed). Wesleyan is a bit more. It’ll probably be around $4,600 for the year, but that is only out of pocket. I would also have to take out a $5,500 loan and do a $2,750 work study. Do you think it’s still worth going to Wesleyan? I may end up owing $8-10,000 when I am done at Wesleyan, whereas UCONN I may owe either nothing (if I get the state scholarship), or around $5-6,000 when I am done. I feel panicked lol I need advice. What should I do?
Unless you have a real personal preference for UConn for some reason, it would seem Wesleyan could definitely be worth an additional $10,000 or so for your degree.
I should add, I am interested in UCONN’s study abroad programs, which could charge me an additional $7-8,000 for the two years.
