I was admitted to the business administration as an honors student, but am debating between 3 schools right now: UCSD, UCI, AND UCR. I want to go towards the business field, but have been wondering how the UCR business administration program is. Does it have a good reputation? My goal is to get into an above average or top tier MBA school and I am wondering if UCR will lead me there.

Most MBA programs require work experience, good gpa and good gmat scroe. Most likely you will have better gpa at UCR, but I would rank it last.

I'll be attending a top 20 business program on full fellowship this fall. I had no trouble applying as a student from UCR. To be honest it's more about what you accomplish as an individual and less about what your school's name is.

i'd have to disagree with KHmun. Most college graduates don't really have a single distinguishing factor other than the college of attendance. Therefore, in some cases the college you get the degree from does play a factor in getting the more competitive jobs that tend to be more favorable in pay and other factors. But again, that's not always the case. No one can give you a true answer to your question except yourself. Choose the college that you really want to go to! Don't worry about the prestige factor or the costs because those are secondary to your wants.

You don't think grades, community service, letters of recommendations, being active in school, and internships/work experience differentiate different candidates? Now I would agree that someone from Stanford would have a much better chance at a job than your average UC student, however, that's because you would be comparing Stanford and UCR and not someone from UCR and say, UCI or UCD.
