***UCR CLASS OF 2021 DISCUSSION THREAD***

Amazing! Do you know what time?

Darn, we have to wait even longer ?

What majors did everyone apply for ?

applied for english/linguistics but i do have pretty average statsā€¦not sure about any school now since sdsu rejected me (sjsu and sfsu accepted into science)

can anyone chance me?
gpa: 3.63
sat: 1130/1600 (math 530 english 600 lol)
act: 25
ap language and comp score: 3
dance team for 2 years (torn acl this year so did not participate, included in apps), hospital volunteer for 2 years, national honor society for 3 years (secretary junior year, vp senior year)
i did earn a d in ap bio last year during first semester due to being hospitalized, i mentioned that in my apps but ://
senior course load: ap calculus ab
ap literature and composition
anatomy & physiology
gov/econ

also applied to uci, ucsb, ucsc, and cal poly slo( havenā€™t heard back from slo yet so iā€™m assuming no news is bad news)

if anyone could chance me that would be greatā€¦iā€™m not confident in any school that i have left to hear from as iā€™ve been rejected from sdsu already (sjsu and sfsu took me for biochem, plnu took me for nursing). i still have not heard from slo which iā€™m assuming at this point is bad news, and of course the 4 ucā€™s i applied to: ucsb, uci, ucr, and ucsc.

uc gpa: 3.63
sat: 1130/1600 (math: 530 lol, and english 600)
act: 25
dance team for 2 years (tore acl so did not participate this year but did mention that in my apps), hospital volunteer in the er for 2 years, member of national honor society for 3 years (secretary junior year, VP senior year)
iā€™ve taken only one ap exam (ap lang and comp, scored a 3)
current course load is: ap calc ab, ap literature and comp, anatomy & phys, gov/econ
2 years of honors english, 2 of ap english, 1 of ap math (this year)
i did earn a D in ap biology first semester last yearā€¦this was due to being hospitalized for most of the year which i did mention in my app, gpa hit an all time low of 3.1 that semester due to being sick.

intended major is english/linguistics

@possiblegaucho17 I think you have a solid chance. As long as you explained & they understand the circumstances for any difficulties, the rest of your stats are pretty good. Above average for UCR maybe? But whatever it is, I think you have a high chance. Your eligibilty index should be high enough (most likely above average). Good luck & just try and relax till Monday

thank you very much, i appreciate it. (also sorry everyone i had no idea i posted twice)

(Environmental Science Major)

If I have an unweighted GPA around 3.3 and I havenā€™t heard back from Cal Poly SLO yet, thereā€™s an extremely high chance itā€™s a rejection right?

UCR said 3-6-17 release time 12:00 am notices.

Drink your coffee and donuts.

Iā€™m assuming thatā€™s pacific standard time right? Is it worth me staying up til 3am for an out of stater? Lol

@CoastalKid Yes itā€™s pacific standard time. Honestly the decision is gonna be same whether you check at 3am when itā€™s released or if you check when you wake up. But if you feel the need to stay up then more power ya, I know that I and many others will right there with you!

If I read the posts clearly there is so far no indication that ALL notices will go out on 3/6. So, we will not wait around.

Sorry all 12:00 am PST. 3-6-17 UCR notices go out

decisions go out tonight @ 12AM??

@kors03 Thatā€™s what people are saying. I thought it was going to be tomorrow at midnight (March 7th) but idk for sure. I hope itā€™s tonight.

Well If theres an excuse to stay up super late this is it. Anyone else gonna be up to wait ?

Iā€™m so confused as to when itā€™s gonna be! And no, my strategy is to take some melatonin and hopefully when I wake up there will be a decision. Iā€™m also EST lol

Im pretty sure it is tonight! @12AM

Iā€™m so nervous! Have you guys heard that anywhere besides this thread? How strongly are you guys considering UCR?

@CoastalKid I have been keeping up with a few other threads, but not too much information on there. UCR is one of my lower considerations. My top three are UC Berkeley, UCI, and UC San Diego. Then UCR and UC Davis.
