@CoastalKid UCR Admissions Twitter tweeted on March 1st that decisions would be going out anytime next week, but they didn’t mention a specific date.
As for how strongly I’m considering UCR, it’s a safety for me, and really close to where I live (hoping to get a little further away from home LOL). I got into UCM which was also a safety for me but if it came down to it I’d rather go to UCR, however I’m hoping to get into UCD or UCSB. UCLA or UCSD would be nice too but I’m about 99.99% sure that won’t happen :))
To be considered for an admissions decision, does UCR require students to have their major specific courses completed? OR can you still get in with the completion of UC requirements?
@CoastalKid Well my stats are kinda low compared to others, so UCR makes ideal sense to attend since its close to home and seems to have a solid progam for the major I applied for. However, it is not my TOP choice.
In regards to UCs have heard back from UCM already, but I am waiting on UCR/UCSC/UCD/UCSD (UCD/UCSD are my two reaches)
Few Cal states too as backups/ considerable options.
Not that it really maters, but I believe this is the freshman admissions thread, and there is another one for transfer admissions. I also don’t know if the tweet referenced was for all or just for one of those. Do (any of) you know?
@Superman147 UCSC ? Well their CS program will probably be among the most applied for, but I would say it is possible to get admitted, but I think its best for me to prepare otherwise (40-50 percent chance) just in case I get rejected.
If you did apply to UCSC, just remember the release day is on the 15th next week by last names.
@mimbojumbo oh god no. If that were the case, the UC’s would basically have 10% acceptance rates. The top 9% ELC thing is solely based on stats. It doesn’t take into consideration extracurriculars, essays, etc. It’s only used as a guarantee that if you’re in the top 9%, you will be guaranteed admission at a UC (perhaps not the one you really want, but it’ll be a UC).
