Waitlisted as of right now… good luck to anyone else left.
What major did you get waitlisted for?
@jahdhdndn CHASS Pre-business
Waitlisted…
applied for biology/biological science…
Waitlisted for political science
After all this wait, I have been waitlisted for bio, really UCR!!!
Does anyone know how likely it is to get in from being waitlisted?

Try this site. I’m not sure if this is 100% legit from UCR, but if you go back to previous pages on this thread, another user also posted a link to waitlist info on popular colleges and it was basically the same as this one.
You could also try searching “UCR common data set” and view info for admissions, enrollment, etc., but I don’t think they have an official report for Fall 2016’s data on their common data set yet.
Good luck!
@alanm319 I’ve also tried searching some waitlist info myself because I was waitlisted to UCSC, but all I got from my little research was that it really depends on how many people actually SIR to the schools and how many people accept the waitlist offer. If the school doesn’t reach it’s desired enrollment target, then they’ll probably admit more students from the waitlist. If a lot more students end up SIR’ing than the school expected, then they probably won’t admit anyone from the waitlist. This is what happened with UCSC in 2015 (I believe?) when they overadmitted students and didn’t accept anyone from the waitlist.
I’m not exactly sure if I’m being helpful at all since the waitlist each year is different for every schools, but hopefully UCR will accept a lot of waitlisted students.
Waitlisted!!!
@selfconfidentgal Ahh I remember being one of those waitlisted students for UCSC in 2015. Anyways, being waitlisted involves what major you’re applying for. If the major you’re applying for has a small amount of students in it and the department is looking for more students to be in that major program then you have a better chance of getting in. However if you’re applying for a major in BCOE or an impacted major at UCR like Business then your chances are slimmer. As advice for prospective students next year, look at that Data Set link posted, go on the Campus Statistics tab, and change the first column to “Enrollments: Programs”. Lastly in the column named “Scope”, select “Program”. There you can see how many students are enrolled in each major. Make your alternate major one of the programs that has a small amount of students in order to really better your chances of getting in, waitlisted or not.
This was UCR last year
Waitlist Offered 6,231
Waitlist Accepted 3,737
Waitlist Admitted 2,770
Admit Rate 74%

Waitlisted Bioengineering…
I’m guessing my chances are slim
Is anyone still waiting?
@Superman147 I am
goodluck @Bayworks
Off to SJSU honors college for me then!
S waitlisted for CS. UC GPA 3.56, SAT 1370, ACT 30, great essays, good ECs. Fingers crossed. Best of luck to all. This has been a brutal UC admission cycle.
I was waitlisted which is not bad considering my stats weren’t that great.
Major: CS
UC GPA: 3.8
ACT: 25
6 AP’s
CA or OOS: CA
I moved to the U.S. halfway through my Sophomore year. I didn’t know what an AP class or the ACT was until a few months in my Junior year. Mediocre EC’s and essays were pretty unique according to my English teacher and counselor. English is also my second language. Although I was very fortunate to be offered on a waitlist. I’m debating whether or not I should SIR because UCR isn’t my top choice. If I somehow got off the waitlist, I would feel bad since someone else who really wanted to go there could have taken my spot. I was offered full-ride to CSUS and was also invited to honors, so I’ll probably end up there and “try” to transfer into UCD.
Accepted: CSUS, CSUC
Rejected: Cal Poly SLO, UCD, UCSD, UCSC, UCSB, UCLA, UCI
Waitlisted: UCR
Waiting: CPP, UCB
Best of luck to everyone who haven’t heard back yet!
I think transfers hear decisions on the 31st
