***UCR CLASS OF 2022 APPLICANT/DECISION THREAD***

My son is still waiting to hear but his self-confidence is going down as he waits as he just found out today he was only waitlisted at Santa Cruz. And according to his education consultant, he has less of a chance getting into Riverside. She said in this order those UC’s that he would have the best chance of getting into which still would be a reach f would be UC Merced which yes he did get into, UC Santa Cruz waitlisted and UC Riverside which he as I said is still waiting on . He would be going in as a biology major.

@Andreq: Based just on statistical data, your son has a better chance at UCR vs. UCSC. UCR’s Average UC GPA and SAT/ACT scores are lower than UCSC. Not sure what your son’s stats are when he applied, but this gives you some statistical data to consider.

@Andreg my son just got waitlisted at Santa Cruz as well. But I think he has a real shot at Riverside. His counselor did not think Riverside was as as competitive as Santa Cruz due to its size. Would you might if I asked his stats. My son is going for Computer Science his GPA is 3:7 and his SAT was a 1230. I know people lower than that that have gotten in to Riverside. Good luck

@metafisicas According MyUCR help tab:

All admitted students are mailed an admit packet that contains the letter of admission. Occasionally, these packets are returned to us as undeliverable. Please note that it takes approximately 3 weeks to receive your admit packet.

All information contained in the admit packet can be found on your MyUCR (www.my.ucr.edu) web page. However, if you need us to mail another admit packet to you, please let us know via e-mail at admissions@ucr.edu with your full name and address and we will be happy to mail it to you.

If you have not already done so, please take this opportunity to sign onto your MyUCR account today, and reserve your space in our upcoming class by saying “Yes Sir!” and submit your statement of intent to register (SIR) today!

@Alk2000 Does your son only have two tabs in his portal? My husband only has two tabs, Home and Profile.

@Gumbymom

For past years/information, do you have any idea what this could indicate? Could it possibly be a rejection/waitlist?

When my husband logged into MyUCR it says the same message “your application is being reviewed for an admission decision” but there are only two tabs. He only has the account home and profile tabs and nothing else on the page.

@Alk2000 I would be embarrassed to even write what the stats are. They are not even close no where’s near not in the GPA range nor anywhere near the ACT range. Not sure why she told us that after Merced being the easiest that the next easiest would be Santa Cruz but who knows… His main focus is to go to school on the East Coast which he’s already gotten into a few much smaller schools there so we’ll see what happens…

I will check it right now.

@lovepinkk98 he has all the tabs. You should call and ask about that. I would. I’m sure it’s just a glitch

@Alk2000 Thank you for checking :slight_smile:

@andreg that’s silly. He would not have been waitlisted at Santa Cruz if it was that bad. Good luck to you and me for that matter!

@lovepinkk98: It still means his application is being reviewed. Did he apply near the November 30th deadline? Only reason I ask is that both son’s had friends that applied exactly on the deadline a few years back, they finally got their decisions several weeks later than the majority of applicants.

@Gumbymom Yes, he applied/submitted on the last day before the deadline with me. I already received my acceptance on 3/8, but he hasn’t gotten an admission decision yet. Hopefully, we will hear back soon.

@lovepinkk98: As long as he has no decision, it means he is still in the running.

@Gumbymom Thank you for responding :slight_smile: I really appreciate it.

I applied back on November 8th but the portal still says you are being considered for an admission decision
CS
3.68 UC GPA
1360 SAT
740 Chem
750 Math 2

I was wait listed for UCSC

I just received my acceptance package in the mail today. Nothing inside mentions about financial aid though.

On my portal it says Your application is currently being considered for an admission decision. Can anyone else relate?! I just want to know if I got in or not !!! :frowning:

@rubadubb14 Dont worry, two of my friends are still on the same boat. I understand its a very impatient time right now (even with UCI and UCSD), but just keep calm. You’ll get your decisions eventually.
