hi i applied to cal poly pomona and got in and am still waiting on ucr. I just wanted to know what people thought was a better school to go to if i plan on becoming an accountant and working for one of the big 4 accounting firms. I know cal poly is really good for accounting but at the same time ucr is a uc and dont firms like that better? and also ucr is bringing a grad school focused on accounting and business. I am a little confused and need some help. Also my jc proff told me that in order to get become a CPA you need to get a degree in accounting. How can they enforce that when so many uc's dont offer an accounting major and many cal states as well. Thank you

I would definitely go to the school that offers the best recruitment for your field. I'm not sure which one has better recruiting but that is something you can find out by contacting each school and asking about things like relevant internship programs offered, which companies recruit the heaviest, the percentage of seniors offered positions within a few months after graduation etc. You should also apply to Cal Poly SLO because I heard the Big 4 recruit heavily from its accounting program.

i thought cal poly was supposed to be the best as far as accounting goes, any one else with some thoughts? anyone whos in the field right now?
