UCR Transfer 2017

@Alwaysfroze I was accepted last Friday with gpa 3.59 through tag for bus adm, I think that either your cousin did not take their tag need classes? After you rage ucr, they will review your tag and either accepts it or not. What did she say about it?

I was admitted with a 3.25 into the business preparation major in the college of humanities. When I checked on my CC’s agreement to UCR, I noticed that my CC (according to assist.org) didn’t have a requirement to take an intermediate economics course. However you need one to be in the business admin school at UCR. So this business preparation major has a list of classes you have to take and they all correspond to classes I’ve taken except for this intermediate economics class. So I’m assuming that I’m going to be taking this class when I’m there… Does anyone know how that works? But yeah, congrats on everyone who got in! I’ve been lurking on this forum for some time but figured I’d post once I got my acceptance. D
Does anyone know also whether or not submitting your SIR earlier as opposed to later has any advantages?
Does anyone know whether or not filing an application for an on campus apartment earlier has advantages?

Cheers

@zinaco yes you are correct, I took two Econ course at my cc, I was admitted into school of business. And sir does not make a difference if you pay it earlier or later

@memstuh that’s literally what I just said

@JustgotintoUCSB: I’m just saying campus apartments are technically also dorms since it’s on campus… which are available to transfers.

@babysnow I guess she lacked of 1 course, the introduction one.
Her portal different than mine, she only has the two tabs, Account Home and Profile, while I have a bunch of tabs.
On last Friday, she was rejected while I was still being considered for an admission. (I want the stress to be ended, I hope it just said it fast when it rejected me, like Hey, you are rejected so I don’t need to wait anymore)
She got into SJSU and she so far got rejected from SDSU (which she really wants to attend)

@ucsu916 @thesleepystudent I’m also waiting for an admission decision for Business Admin. Do either of you guys have the change your major option under the profile tab?

@prettysweet20 I do but I’m not a business major. I’m a PoliSci. Do you know what that means though? I’m kinda curious as to whether or not those that got rejected has the same option to change their majors.

Got accepted a couple days ago. UCR was my backup school. I’m posting anyway just in case future students want to see.

Major: Biochemistry (for this school, but I’m actually going into pharmaceutical sciences at UCI)
IGETC: 5 weeks left for completion.
Pre-reqs: got most of them out of the way, but not completely.
GPA: 3.85
Outside of school I work my parttime jobs and also participate in this biodiversity research project.
Also got accepted into UCSB and UCI. I tagged UCI as well. Still waiting for UCSD. Congrats to everyone so far!

@dianeuh96 No, I’m not sure what it means. I tried to call UCR admissions earlier to ask, but they wouldn’t answer. Lol I’m hoping that it’s a good sign though.

Still haven’t received a decision yet and I am getting really stressed out cuz i tagged with UCR

i’m business admin and I have an option to change my major next to change my email but i just figure that’s in case you want to change your major. lol

I was wondering if that tab had been there this whole time lol? Others who got accepted noticed that tab prior to their acceptance @thesleepystudent

@Alwaysfroze
Then probably that’s why she got rejected however her gpa is high enough for ucr to be serious. I have a friend who have a 3.4 gpa and bus adm also, and he got accepted into the prep for business cause he did not take a business course. Might as well just suggest your cousin to appeal for it since she got a high gpa.

@babysnow I guess I asked her to do that tho. Not really sure why she got rejected. I will ask her to appeal that decision.
What you guys think we should write on the Appeal ?

@Alwaysfroze do not reiterate what you said on the application. they strictly ask for new information only. i would recommend you seek out a professor you trust or that is a UC alum. check for any threads on writing a successful appeal.

Accepted!
Major: Computer Science
