@Piktuto I SIR’d the same day I was accepted. My deposit was waived because my application fees were waived. I think it’s like 90 bucks
BTW, I’m a transfer student and I was accepted on 3/8 for Microbiology! If anyone else happens to be the same major, let’s be friends! It’s so hard to find people with the same major lol.
@wave56 Ohhhhhh my application fees were also waived. Hopefully this means I don’t have to pay for deposit. I rather use the money for orientation or for parking pass tbh.
@TransferCS I saw your message from earlier this morning. I know it is so hard to process this rejection through. I really do. I was rejected from UCR two years ago and I was devastated. Words can’t describe how worthless I felt as a student at that particular moment.
However, I believe that there are still some choices out there and another chance to apply during a different term. For instance, have you heard about the guaranteed admission program at UCR (TAG), which is opened for winter as well? If you meet the GPA and other requirements, you can apply for TAG in May for acceptance in the winter quarter 2019. A UCR representative goes to my community college every Friday to help students see where they are at in terms of transferring. You should check out if your UCR admission counselor goes to your community college and have a chat with them about your choices.
Has anyone already have in their portal that their SIR went through successfully? If so, has anyone any problems submitting their SLR (Statement of Legal Residence)? When I click on the link, it asks my for my student ID and my date of birth. Later, a page pops up that I am a resident of California. However, at the bottom where it says
“Do you claim to be a California resident?”
Yes No
It can’t fill in the blank to answer yes.
Does this mean that since I am a California resident, I do not have submit a SLR?
@Piktuto thanks for the info. I have been waiting for the acceptance letter in the mail for couple weeks now. I hope that they will send out the physical letter soon.
No TAG

*This is my 2nd time applying UC since I had some problems with transferring my credits from my previous college, and UC did not accept me last year. I studied another year in CSUN, and I applied to UCR, UCI, UCB, UCLA, UCSD. Still waiting from other UCs except UCR.
