Hey guys! I'm looking at applying to some UC's. Does anyone know what each ones specialty is?

All campuses adhere to the same admission guidelines and high academic standards, yet each has its own distinct character and academic individuality. Riverside, for example, excels in the plant sciences and entomology; Davis has a large agricultural school and the Universitys only veterinary medicine program; San Diego has excellent oceanography and marine biology programs; San Francisco is devoted exclusively to the health sciences. Among the campuses there are five medical schools and three law schools, as well as schools of architecture, business administration, education, engineering, and many others.

I'm interested in UC specialties, too. Particularly, my daughter is mostly interested in music (especially, piano and music theory) and languages (especially, Romance and maybe Slavic; maybe, lingusitics). Which UCs are strong in those fileds? (Need reach, match and safety ;-)).

What about for creative writing/english?

University of California-Berkeley = Everything
University of California-Los Angeles = Everything minus Business
University of California-San Diego = Everything minus Business
University of California-Santa Barbara = Engineering and Physics
University of California-Davis = Agriculture and Life Sciences
University of California-Irvine = Economics, English and Writing
University of California-Santa Cruz = Oceanography

Surfette, among the UCs, I'd say Cal, UCLA and UCI are the best at English and Creative Writing.

Alexandre speaks the true gospel.

OK, so I have heard that UCB and UCLA are good in nearly everything, including music and languages. And basically, they both are reaches for almost everyone. I also have read/heard some information about UCSC (hopefully, the good safety for an A-student) having very strong linguistic program and decent music department.

Now, I'd like to find out which of the "match" UC campuses - USCD, UCD, UCSB - have better opportunities in those fileds?
