UCs! (LA, Cal, SD, SB, and Davis) Chance me?

Hello, kindly link clicker. I am a senior at a school in California, and I'm wondering what my chances are at the UCs I applied to. Everyone I talk to offline is reassuring, but they have the bias of knowing me personally. But, if someone only saw what the colleges would see, how are my chances looking?

GPA:
* Unweighted: 3.97
* Weighted: 4.15
* UC scale: 4.37
(The only B I ever received was in freshmen year, which wasn't included in the UC scale.)

CLASSES: I've taken 7 AP classes. One Sophomore year, two last year, and four this year. My school does not offer very many, and does not offer any at all for Freshmen. I am taking the most difficult course load I can this year.

CLASS RANK: 7/660

SAT SCORES:
* Reasoning: 2030
- Math: 620
- Writing: 650
- Reading: 760
* II
- Lit: 780
- US History: 780
- Math II: 600

AP SCORES: All 5's. (Language & Comp, Euro, US History). Planning on taking the Psych, Calc AB, and US Gov test.

EC's
* Forensics, 10-12. This year I am head captain. I attended the state championships last year.
* Gay Straight Alliance, 10-12. I was president in 10-11, and am Secretary this year due to other commitments.
* Diversity Leadership Council, 11-12. You have to be selected by administration to be on it.
* Secular Student Alliance, 12. I founded this club this year, and am the president as well.
* Leo's Club, 12. Not a huge EC, but one I listed nonetheless.

VOLUNTEERING
* Over 80 hours at our local hospital.
* Over 40 hours of Peer tutoring.
* Around 15 hours at the library one summer.
* 10 hours this year with Leo's.

AWARDS:
* Letter of Commendation from the National Merit Scholarship. (216 on my PSAT)
* School honors in Humanities
* Academic letter, Speech letter
* A state forensics award

ESSAYS: Strong. I wrote one about my pride in overcoming mental illness (anxiety), which was not overly sappy or self pitying. The second I wrote about my mixed feelings about my city, but how ultimately it gave me the ability to write, and the possibility to make a change in the world. I had my teachers go over them, and they were well received.

Thank you for reading this far (if any one did), and tell me if I can add anything that would help you ponder my chances.

pretty good shot at most of them. UCLA and Berkeley will be quite unpredictable because of your SAT scores. Strong essays will help, best of luck.

40% at Berkeley
50% at UCLA
70-80% at others

CONFIRMED FOR SAN FRANCISCO STATE U.

rkanan: Thanks! The kids at my school who have had similar stats as me in the past have had good luck with UCLA, but last year even our Valedictorian didn’t get into Cal (though he is now comfortable at John’s Hopkins).

salmon: While your comedic skills amaze me, not the most helpful response ever. Though, your response bumped up the thread a little so thank you for that?

Hannah uses BUMP.

It is Super Effective!

(Hopefully?)

I would say you have a strong shot at LA and Berkeley. About 60 percent. For the other UC’s, I would say a 90 percent chance of getting in. You’re grades look very strong as well as your test scores so nothing really to worry about! good luck! :slight_smile:
