<p>The story:
I spend 3 days crafting a personal statement that really took into account some experiences I had in life. They were pretty life changing on my certain outlook on a topic: poverty. Sure the topic is cliche but I talked about it i nthe sense of my hometown, it was really evident. The problem is when I was having trouble with the UC personal statement format I clicked the video and I nearly killed myself. The sample demonstration essay they typed in the back sounded a LOT like mine...from some of the lines right down to the conclusion. Do you suggest with 3 days left that I attempt to write something else or keep my essay, in a sense its really unique to me and "personalized" and from all the feedback I've received it was a "really good" essay. But I don't think any of them nor I (until just a few minutes ago) realized that the video existed. Do you think the UC might just think, "hey this kid just saw our video, picked our topic, and wrote about it?"</p>
<p>One more: Is anyone else finding that going from Microsoft Word counter to the UC one, adds like 10 more words to the count? Because this caused me to get to 1022 words and I have no idea if they will accept that.</p>
