<p>Unless they have renown programs then don't pay for the OOS tuition. Example: UCB- engineering, UCSD- bioengineering/premed, UCD- agriculture etc.</p>

<p>My roommate from my 3rd year was an out-of-state student from Texas. He said the combination of a great engineering program as well as location and campus atmosphere definitely made it worth it for him. He could have stayed in-state at UT but says he is really glad he made the decision to go to SB (and schools like SB and Cal Poly are known to engineers in Texas as well).</p>
<p>i'm at irvine and I know 2 people who are here from Hawaii. They thought it was worth the money. Dont attend if you if all you want is the presteige (cal/la) unless its a very strong program you intend to enter at that schol. Or you can stay in state (be economically smart) study hard and apply to grad school.</p>
