UCSB Acceptance

^ They rejected you with a TAG?

Denied with TAG!? Whaaaat.

@rshie002 yeah that makes sense D:

@econtran aww but you’ve still got the others :smiley: hug

@adpres

Yup

That’s because UCSB’s tag minimum GPA is 3.2

He didn’t fulfill his TAG contract so doesn’t that mean it nulls the contract?

He needed a 3.2 in order to be accepted into the school but he got a 3.1

That’s what TAG is, a contract. You meet the contract or you don’t and it nullifies it.

@Econtran did they actually deny you? Or are you still pending? What exactly does it say?

Yeah i figured something like that because i know the ucsb tag is 3.2.

Yeah, my GPA dropped after the Fall semester. I wish I had tried a little harder now.

My app says:

“We appreciate your interest in the University of California, Santa Barbara. We have evaluated your application for admission for the Fall 2011 quarter and regret that we cannot offer you admission to UC Santa Barbara at this time.”

After Fall 2010 Semester, do you send in the transcript so they can see your Fall grades?

Accepted into their Pre-Communications program
GPA:3.6
TAG:no
IGETC: will be completed by the end of spring

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! :)

@Econtran

I apologize if this is too personal of a question, but were there any extenuating circumstances to your gpa drop? Mine dropped to a UC 3.2 from a 3.7 after two family deaths during fall semester, so I’m concerned about admissions this spring.

Best of luck to you with your other decisions, BTW.

So you had an approved TAG with UCSB back in November, but because your GPA dropped from 3.2X to 3.1, they nullified it and rejected you?

@Jiansen

Yes, that’s the TAG Agreement. You have to meet the requirements when you apply for TAG and you have to finish it all the way through.

“Applicants must earn a minimum of a 3.20 GPA by the end of Spring 2011”

It’s hard to believe somebody got in engineering with 2.9. Many 3.9 are stilling waiting.This ain’t a fair game…

Do you guys know how we check our financial aid?

Admitted to Pre-Mathematics College of Letters and Science
GPA:4.0
OOS Student

GL to everyone else

Accepted!
Undeclared (Letters and Science)
3.7 GPA
28 ACT

@asphyxiac

No, when my TAG was approved I barely had a 3.2 GPA. I slacked a little bit and didn’t maintain my GPA. If you still have a GPA over a 3.2 I’m sure you will be fine.

@Jiansen

Yup, I was approved in November. I’m sure I got denied for reasons other than just my GPA. I’m guessing that my essay and ECs didn’t cut it.

BTW, congrats to everyone that did get accepted and good luck to everyone that is still waiting!

I thought SB doesn’t look at personal statements?
