I am going to apply to UC Santa Barbaras Film and Media Studies Graduate Program for Fall 2012 admission.

I am currently living in San Francisco and will be considered an in state resident by the time I apply.

I received a BA in Mass Communication, Public Relations from Wright State University in Ohio in 2010. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA, and I took many film classes while attending Wright State. I have scholarly writing samples from my film classes and I know my teachers will write great recommendations.

I am worried about my GRE scores. I need to take the test this summer, does anyone know what the programs median accepted score is? I have not taken a math class in over 6 years (I tested out of college math) so I have a lot of catching up to do.

I have always loved film and I hope to pursue a career in academia after I graduate. I work in eCommerce marketing for a film distribution company called Green Planet Films in the Bay Area and I hope that will raise my chances. I am going to apply to the University of Colorado and San Francisco.... but UCSB is my number 1 choice.

Any advice for boosting my chances of getting in?
