I feel stupid asking this but umm... can someone please explain to me the award?
Also, I chose to live off campus on the FAFSA, why are they charging the $9505 for room and board?
I have my own private insurance, will I still pay the health care fee anyway?
I am a CA resident btw!

They aren’t charging you for room and board. They are telling you what it costs on average to go to UCSB, including off campus room and board.

NVM. My mistake.

Anything under living expenses is an estimated cost. They are just telling you what the average student spends on these items. You do not have to pay them. You will spend money on books and the like, but the amount you spend will be up to you. If you have your own health insurance, you do not have to pay the health fee. You submit a waiver form before school starts and you will not have to pay for that. All you need to worry about are tuition and student services fee. Those are set charges and need to be paid.

Hey did you get an email saying your unofficial financial award is up? Because I have no grants/scholarships given to me or whether the letter isnt even up.
