I am reallly considering UCSB but the more I talk about it the more I hear it’s a party school and I’m not sure if a person like me, an introvert would really fit in.

It’s a large university, and there will be plenty of introverts there and other people who don’t want to party. Just get involved in clubs and activities that interest you. Not everyone parties, even at so-called party schools.
I agree w/mommyrocks. I went to UCSB and it IS a large university. Not EVERYBODY parties every weekend. My roommate for 2 years was very introverted and wasn’t into partying at all. She had a group of friends and had fun just like everybody else…just without going to the traditional rager frat parties and stuff like that. There is most definitely a place there for introverts.
Every large state university is a party school. But that’s still only a portion of the students. You will be fine no matter where you go, and the beach location makes UCSB attractive for most everyone.
We visited UCSB last year. The impression I got is that if you want parties, you’ll get them. But you have to go out of the campus, meaning that if you’re not into it, apparently you won’t be affected by the others. It looked like an amazing college experience, campus-wise.
