I’m transferring to UCSB in the fall, and was wondering how much of my housing FAFSA covers. I come from low income family $30,000-$40000 anually, so I know my parents won’t be able to afford the housing cost. I’m aware my tuition is covered, but not sure if i can afford a dorm on campus.
How much did you receive in your FA package from UCSB? FASFA does not cover your FA. It is just an application that you submit to see if you qualify for federal aid.
I won’'t be transferring till fall 2016. I just wanted to know the average reward for individuals who have the same annual household income, and if it’s it enough to cover tuition, and some of the housing.
Did you run the net price calculator for UCSB? http://www.finaid.ucsb.edu/net-price-calculator
Thanks
Well if you aren’t transferring until next year it is confusing to say you are transferring in the fall, implying this fall. And it is an AWARD not a reward.
If you are instate you should get some funds from UC. You will get cal grant if eligible, pell if eligible, federal loan, then pay your EFC, there may be a summer earnings req for about 3k and work study of up to 2k, the university should provide the rest up to the COA.
How much can you plan to pay for room and board from your summer 2016 job earnings - $3000 - $4000?
Or, can you commute?
