UCSB Marine Biology double major?

I will be a Freshman at UCSB this fall, and I intend on majoring in Marine Biology. (“Aquatic Biology” at UCSB) I know I have to complete the “Pre-Biology” coursework first, but I was just wondering if there is anyway to get a double major with this degree? Or would it be too hard?

I was thinking Film and Media Studies (I love writing/journalism and photography…) or maybe Communications?

Already planning on minoring in professional writing… I need advice!!

Spending an extra year or more on a second degree is rarely a good idea. See what you can manage in the 4 years you are at UCSB given any AP credit you might have. From what I have seen about students who start with the idea of doing a double major in a science discipline and fine arts, it is very difficult because there is so little overlap in courses.
