UCSB Mechanical Engineering vs. UCI Aerospace Engineering

Hey everyone, I guess the title says it all. I’m stuck between these two schools. I’ve wanted to pursue a degree in Aerospace and UCI is the only one that I got accepted to that has it. But UCSB has mechanical, in which I hear there is an option for concentration in aerospace. I havent really heard much about UCI and from what I’ve seen on reviews online is that people have a hard time getting internships which makes me worry about job prospects. I have had the privilege to participate in a few internships with UCSB and one of them was in collaboration with Raytheon.

I honestly have no idea how to choose, I also like the campus at UCSB, I’m not a party person so that part doesnt matter. UCI being a commuter school, I hear its not really the college experience.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

From your post is sounds like you are leaning toward UCSB.

I’d go there. You said yourself that there are internship opportunities, a ‘college experience’, and you like the campus.

Have you visited the UCI campus?

I haven’t visited uci yet, I can’t go to Discover UCI tomorrow because I have an exam, but I wanted to visit the following week

@ShuttlepilotND why not contact your prof and see if you can take a makeup exam or just not count this exam towards your grade and weigh the others more heavily? All they can say is no, and if you explain why you want to maybe you will be pleasantly surprised

@mikemac I did yesterday lol and he said no
