It seems that at this current point many of the transfer applicants have recieved their admission decisions. For those of you still waiting I wish you the best of luck.

I do understand that many of us are still waiting for word from schools such as UCSD, UCD, UCB and UCLA. However, regardless of that fact many of you have already decided upon UCSB as your school of choice or at least one of your top choices.

The purpose of this thread is to start up some networking amongst the transfer students. It never hurts to start making acquaintances and friends early because if UCSB becomes your target destination you will be going in new, while the majority of those in your class already have had two years to establish social networks, experience the school, etc.

Even if you end up not going to UCSB you might make a few friends out of the process.

If this gets some good responses I'll see about making a group on Facebook or something similar to network the transfers of UCSB on CC, perhaps requesting a stickied discussion thread.

I know the profile is not incredibly extensive but it is late and I do need to get some rest. At this point in time I'd like to see the interest in this particular network. If there is sufficient interest a request can be made to the admins to provide us with a discussion thread and I will fire up a facebook group.

So post up! And feel free to start PMing and IMing around just to start meeting other interested potential transfers!

Hey Lynn, this is a good idea you have going here! I just got into SB on monday and am seriously considering attending, its basically my dream school. Im just not going to make any final decision until I get a feel for both UCSD and UCSB and I will make my final decision in May. As for me:

Ah, well I’m totally going to do Transitions. Other than the fact that most people go to community colleges for summer school because it’s wayy cheaper… I think it’s a pretty good idea.

I’ll get to know the campus a little better, without it being crowded. And take some extra classes before starting in Fall.

Let me know if anyone is thinking of joining!
