I’m going to be a second year Biopsychology major at UCSB. This upcoming Fall I am taking OChem, MCDB 1A and Psych 7, but that’s only 12 units and I need to be taking between 15-16. Is there any relatively east classes that I could take with that study load that won’t kill me? I’ve heard that second year as any bio related major is really really hard.
Seeing as the writing requirement tends to be pretty burdensome for a lot of STEM majors, I’d take the opportunity of taking a writing course. As an English major, I’ve seen how the wrong choice for a writing class can hurt a STEM major’s GPA. I’d recommend taking Global 1 with McCarty since it satisfies a lot of GE requirements. Plus, it’s super easy and there’s no midterm or final. If you’re going to be a junior next quarter or you’ve already satisfied the area A requirement, I’d highly recommend an upper division English class like ENGL 122WE. All of the quarter classes and descriptions are listed on the English major page for UCSB as well if you need any assistance. Hope this helps!
