it's been 10 days since the deadline to submit the SIRs for UCs. I wasn't sure if i was going to be able to pay for the school so i didn't answer any of them. please be honest and tell me if it's possible to answer it. I didn't say yes or no i just didn't answer it. can i still go to UCSB.

i don't want to go to community college

I have a feeling it may be to late... I don't know.... call them.
Last year a senior didn't SIR ( I guess he forgot?) and there was nothing he could do. He was pretty bummed for the rest of the year and freaked out.

i wrote on another board from a different website and they suggested me to tell them that i didn't know there was a deadline. should i do something like that? any suggestions from u guys

any other tips

I would just be truthful and tell them what you told us: you were struggling to decide to go because of your financial issues and you completely forgot the deadline in the process. Tell them how much it means to you to finally get in and how much you want to go and just apologize.

Honestly, your chances aren't spectacular but hopefully you get some sympathy on the other end of the phone.

thanks guys i hope they can do something about it. has there been people in my situation before? how succesful were they?

i think they will accept you still
I said no to them a while back and they recently emailed me saying that if I changed my mind or made a mistake just to call them.

send a letter tomorrow, and explain your hesitancy due to financial considerations and ask to be added to the class.

you think so? beacuse i called them yesterday and they said that they said that they didn't have anymore room. it doesn't make sense does it if they still offered you the option of going back

word to the wise: not everything you read here is true.

if they said that they didn't have anymore room then your chances of going wont be too bright

ok thanks for all your help guys

;)

p.s:doesn't make sense cause they still have to take transfers

if UCSB is still your dream school, see my post in the UCSB forum about the backdoor way into UCSB. You can get pretty much the full UCSB experience, and do it at a lot lower cost to boot!
