i had been admitted to both UCSB and UCD, but i am having a hard time choosing to go which. Many people say that UCSB is a party school and UCD is not a developed. Can anyone give me some adivce on which one i should go to?

Major :
UCSB economic/accounting
UCD Agricultural & Environmental Sciences: Wildlife, Fish & Conservation Biology

I think both are the best or near the best major for those school. Anyone can give me some advice?

How many UCSB students does it take to screw in a light bulb? Seven. One to screw in the light bulb and six to screw each other. Haha! personally, I’d choose UCD. Not only is it ranked higher, but I think it’s just a great school overall. I hear a lot of rumors that UCSB is known for drugs and sex school.

UCSB. You choose the environment you learn in. Why not go to an established school with well-respected professors and programs that just happens to be located right on the beach? I know very intelligent people who chose to attend UCSB over higher-ranked schools because the atmosphere is simply spectacular. So that would be my choice, if I were in your position.

UCSB is kind of a party school, but the city is great. It’s more of a surfer-esque, laid-back environment.
UCD is more suburban neighborhood-y, haha. It’s bike capital of the nation, and has one of the best farmer’s markets in the nation! It also has the best cafeteria system of the UCs.
Personally, I like UCD better. Not only is it known for better academics (9th best public school in the nation), but the feel of Davis is so homey and inviting! And the rec center is AMAZING. UCD also has more variation in season, if you like that. But it depends on the type of environment you like better… visit them! :)

why do two posters say UCD is higher rated than UCSB?

Per USNWR, both are ranked #39.
