byebyesfstate...my major is business econ and i think im going to live in the santa ynez apartments owned by the school behind IV...although i heard they are opening up the new san clemente apts to transfers because they dont have enough grad students to fill it up so i might give that a shot..what about you?

Still pending...aargh!!

Accepted!
Linguistics Major 3.3 gpa

Checked yesterday at 11am.. nada
checked again this morning.. and there it was! their release method is random, at best.
Got notice almost 3 weeks after rolling admissions began. Hang in there everyone!

I'm also curious to see where the majority of the transfer students will be living. I'm considering one the nonfreshmen residence halls ( san rafael and manzanita ) , but I would like to know where the majority of the transfer students are gonna live.

If I end up going to SB I'll most likely move in with my friend who has a house on Sabado Tarde, the next street from the beach after Del Playa. I'd also consider the transfer apartments or residence halls though, whatever is cheapest.

yeah manzanita is so nice everything is brand new but ive also heard that you get a mix of all ages in there so that could be bad although ill be a 19 yr old junior so that wouldnt be too bad i guess....im still curious about the san clemente situation because those are ridiculoulsy nice..on the outside at least..but santa ynez is prob looking like the best option so far

decision pending...DAMNIT

Yeah i also wouldn't mind a mix of people, just wouldn't want to be out of place and in a non social environment. haha

How about El Dorado apartments?!

idk i think they are the same price per month as santa ynez...but not near as nice

adam48 - I kind of want to live in the residence halls, but I'm still not sure.

killer22 - I was accepted with a 2.9 gpa so no worries, you'll get your acceptance before you know it. :-)

adam48... do you by any chance know the percentage of transfers that win the "lottery" and get a spot in the campus apartments.

Anyone have any opinion on what dorm id fit in well being a transfer student, but also being only 18.

byebyesfstate- I feel the same way about the residence halls, I'm leaning towards them because its probably the best way to make the transition into ucsb.

killer22- I was accepted with a 2.9 gpa also if that helps you

vp0313- I believe that the san rafael and manizanita halls are made primarly for transfers and nonfreshmen undergrads, but its still possible to get into the other all freshmen residence halls. I would say manizanita because it will be housing 250 freshmen and the rest will be a mix.

Also, for those of you who will take the summer transition program, where do they temporarly house you for the several weeks? Is it possible to get housed in the same place where you will be staying for the fall?

vp0313- i know you are guaranteed one year of campus owned housing but i dont think it specifies whether it is in an apartment or dorm but idk those no really bad side to it i guess

calvinator- i read somewhere on the housing website that if you are enrolled in session B for the summer quarter you can request to find out your room for the fall so you can leave your stuff there for that like week and a half gap...

i'm thinking about doing the summer program if i get in, i'll be almost 22 when i transfer, hopefully that's not to old, getting annoyed that its still pending especially when i already applied last winter.

i just figured the el dorado apartments would be more popular because for the 2 bedroom they have two baths and two closets.... :/

Has anyone seen them in person?

adam48- ohh ic thanks for the info

dragondawg- Just give it more time man, i'm sure it will be posted very soon since they update it daily. I know that it has nothing to do with when you applied though, because I applied late, after the deadline, and I was admitted early in march

yeah must be random then or they probably have their own method of doing it. As a transfer manzanita seems the most appealing but i'm also interested to see how san clemente is

Ive seen them in person

El dorado-just average it looks a little bit better than most other units farther in IV but they are pretty old looking

Westgate-same as el dorado

San Clemente-brand new really nice never been lived in and just off campus

Manzanita-really nice 2 or 3 yrs old right on top of ocean, right next to IV,dp but there is the possibility of freshman

Santa ynez-newer than el dorado and westgate, but older than the San Clemente and manzanita but its a lot bigger complex than el dorado, westgate and has more parking than anyhwrre else

I actually haven't been in San rafael

my friend just got a letter in the mail today.
