I want to do the summer transitions program. For me, I still don't understand the full process. Do they make us take an extra course on the transitions process? Is basically just taking courses during the summer before you are officially admitted? Do you keep the same housing during summer and during the fall?

Umm, the transitions program is basically regular summer school, so you can take an extra pre req that you need or start upper divison to get ahead and they setup events for all the transitions people, from what i've heard. Like events to meet friends, hang out etc. You don't take extra courses, just any course(s) that you need to graduate. The housing is different for summer and fall.

yeah its the exact same as regular summer school there are just events to help transfers meet transfers and that kinda stuff....

when do your guys current semesters/quarters end for your CCC

Oh... cool.

When can we schedule a time with a counselor to make a 2 year schedule of what courses I need to take to graduate? Can I just go into the counseling office or is there a specific time? I wonder if I have to sign my SIR.

June 30th is the earliest Transfer Orientation. I don't want to wait till then to lay out my schedule. I got to know what classes I need before I sign up for summer classes.

you know i have no idea...they could prob give you a quick run through during the summer orientation...especially if you are in one of the three majors that have an additional meeting session on the 16th or the 30th

transportation might be a problem for me if i go on the 16th, not sure its its absolutely necessary, but they said you your a biz econ, comm, or this another major i forget, you should go since they have some specialty for that.

yeah they said if you cant go for some reason, you need to inform them asap to set up a phone advising session because they won't let you choose classes without an advising session.

I just drove from the Temecula area to UCSB yesterday. 8+ hours back and forth sucked >_< It cost me $60 in gas. This sucks because I won't be able to visit my family as much. I may have to figure out a public transportation option.

As far as the school goes, it is a beautiful school. There are a lot of gorgeous girls. The tour guide was hot, the girl who got admitted to UCSB in the tour was hot, the girl at Jamba Juice was hot, and random girls walking by me were hot. I think I can learn to like it there.

californialife: HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHA that is like music to my ears

i have to drive from sac... 13 hrs round trip ....sucks

Ay! My ass was numb after 5 hours of driving :(

haha yeah my plan is to drive to SLO stay with my friend there then drive to SB in the morning for orientation for summer school...try to break it up and avoid the ass numbage

haha damn is it really 13 hr round trip. Im coming from Milpitas/ San Jose and it takes about 4 hrs.

Californialife, i can agree with you there about the girls, what was the tour guide name? ahha maybe i can request her for the tour or something, and you also got to tour with a girl? yikes. did you just drive there to take a tour? i'm thinking of driving to temecula one of these days and go to pechunga. I'll probably just go on the 30th or something, maybe even 16th. I'm taking summer i think, but the difference between dorming and apartment is like 1500 for six weeks and the only dorm they are offering is san mig, wonder if there will be hot girls at university own apartments?

it takes me about 2 hrs to get to san jose from my house and a little over 4 from there

when are we supposed to find out about summer housing/roomates?

university apartment also have internet right? not sure if its worth the extra 1500 for the san mig dorm.

yes, they have all utilities including internet. 1500 extra for 1 1/2 months is kind of ridiculous, with the only real advantage being the meal plan.

so what are all transfers officially wanting to do for fall housing...manzanita, san rafael, santa ynez???

I say Manzanita haha

that is what i am thinking too...im going to see if i can get inside on the 16th but they like hella nice on the outside
