UCSB Website is UP

dragondawg,

I believe she said her name was Carla or Carly. I drove down just for the tour. I wanted to check out the beaches but the amount of time it takes to get back and forth home, there wasn't enough time. I didn't want to get lost at night.

I haven't checked out Pachanga before. I won't be 21 until October >_<

How does the housing work? I tried checking how much housing costs. It doesn't say :( I like the double room San Rafael and double room Manzanita. Do you all know where we can check out how much each room costs?

And I wonder how much meal plans cost. What meal plan do you guys like?

housing rates for residence halls: Residence Halls Descriptions & Rates

for the payment schedule (starts on page 3):

Thanks :)

The whole meal plan thing is new to me. I'm going to have to look around at the options they have. Which one do you all like?

i'm leaning towards the 10, but i might do the 14. definitely not doing 19. that is if i live in the residence hall.

I'm 136lbs and 5'7". I maybe small... but I eat a lot. I may go with the 14 meal plan.

yeah i doubt i would spend the extra 1500 on food for 6 weeks. I think the 3 cmapus owned apartments that they are offering for summer, at least two of them are right off the campus i think near FT, hopefully they have shuttles. Still debating if i should go on the 16th or 30th or is it even necessary to go if you can do it over the phone or something. For fall housing i guess manzanita, san raf sounds appealing too, suites seems nice but i prefer the more traditional style.

Wait a minute... I've been looking around on Facebook. Apparently there is no Facebook group for UCSB class of 2010. We got no representation! AY!

the santa ynez/el dorado apts for summer are like a 5-10 min bike ride to class depending on where your class is on campus...

i think im going manzanita 1 and then san rafael 2..i wouldnt mind doing a suite style ...and as far as meal plans go id probably do 10 im not a big breakfast person id rather just have a nutri grain bar or something like that lol

adam48,

That's kind of why I want to go with a 14 meal plan. I know I'd try my hardest to be able to sleep-in. Then I'd have to wait for lunch. I'd rather just have a little snack then wait for lunch.

you do make a good point haha, i noticed they offer brunch too lol

thecalifornia life- what do you mean theres no facebook group for 2010? There has to be haha.

Its a good thing we can change our meal plan if we need to. I dont think we'll really know what plan fits us until we actually start dorming. I think Ill stick to the 14 plan and change to 10 if I see myself eating out a lot.

calvinator,

Nope. There is none >_< I claim it first to be the creator :P

yeah seriously there are some good places to eat in IV but i think they would get old after a while...has the econ advisor e-mailed anyone back yet after you faxed your transcripts to them?

calvinator: i know you were wanting to take the writing for econ class too and i just looked on GOLD and both of the ones for session B say full which is bs because we couldn't even have registered for those anyways... i wonder if they have reserved spots for transitions?

no they dont... it says EVERYWHERE that continuing students have priority over new students.

f*** well that sucks because we cant add anything because we need permission #'s

oh and if anyone is interested someone made a facebook group for ucsb cc'ers... check it out. Login | Facebook

so whos going to the transfer thing on the 16th? i might just end up doing it by telephone or email, does anyone know how we can register for class for summer or do we have to go to the transition thing?

Dang... I don't know if I can go. It is so expensive just to visit there. I can't just be spending $60 to drive down there >_< I just went their 2 days ago. I may just do it over the phone.

If you need it:

If you are unable to attend this event, be sure to contact the Transitions Program Office in Summer Sessions, 805-893-2069.

There is also a May 30th date for the summer transition program. That is the date of my graduation... so I probably won't be going then.
