@coolskeleton95 hi! so this website says that mid-range gpa for linguistics majors is 3.04 - 3.71 and the admit rate for the major is 71%. yours is not all that much lower than that, and that’s the mid-range, so maybe it won’t matter! you seem to have great ECs and experience and including your history (mental health, first gen, etc.) will show them you have very good reasons to have a lower gpa. obviously i’m not an admissions rep and if i’ve learned anything through this process it’s that it’s way too unpredictable. so all i’m saying is don’t count yourself out!
@xPro98 i got accepted on the 18th and have not got one yet some of the freshman got theirs after a week. So idk what they are doing with the transfers.

started at Cal Poly and didn’t really like it so I went home to rethink things and go to a JC. I was accepted as a freshman and decided not to go, I hope that doesn’t have a negative effect. Regardless, I appreciate the input
I still havent gotten anything. Im also a soc major and i think im just going to wait till april 16th and check my portal. The wait is killing me. My last name starts with T. But i did get accepted to sdsu . Its going to be my backup school.
@BubzBB Of course you stand a chance. But that’s only if you stay optomistic and turn that frown upsidedown. UC Santa Cruz takes a very hefty amount of students with a GPA below a 3.0. If they see that your application has heart and spirit, and that you are a good human being who can contribute to the school positively, they may very much so accept you.
The enroll GPA for legal studies to UC Santa Cruz in 2017 was between 2.87-3.25. That means you most-definitely have a shot. Keep your head up high!
ACCEPTED

@dmccccc definitely reassuring to know they’re still going out, especially for TAGed students. Have freaked out for sure because I wasn’t in the first batch like the website states
